Dear visitor,
Being a true "water rat" you could
always find me on and in the water. After about 30 years
of snorkeling I eventually went under water in 1999.
Since then I try to spend as much time as possible
underwater !!
I had caught the scuba virus directly and had to dive
during every holiday. In addition, I noticed that it was
important to keep your skills sharp, and I immediately
followed one after the other PADI course.
When I did all of the "standard"
courses, I started the professional PADI path in 2008,
and I became a DiveMaster.. |
By now I'm a Staff Instructor and
I have lots of fun to teach dive trainings, but I also
enjoy telling the students as much as possible about
what to see and do in the underwater world.
Over the years every diver develop preferences for
diving areas and dive types. I'm no exception and it was
mainly the larger fish that caught my attention in the
first years (drift dives with big fish, such as those in
Kandu's or on the thila's in the Maldives are still
among my favorites).
In the meantime, the smaller creatures of the reef,
which you find during "muck" diving in Asia, also caught
my interest..

This is also triggered
by the fact that I'm crazy about underwater photography,
this gives you a different perspective on a lot of
(macro) things. Furthermore, can you can always wake me
up for a night dive.
In a broad sense, I developed a preference for coral
seas in recent years because the enormous biodiversity
does amaze me every time, mainly because you can find
something new around every corner and behind every piece
of coral.
Because I share this with my partner Marielle (she's a
DiveMaster), it's never been a problem finding a nice (diving)
holiday destination for us. We have been one or more
times in Malaysia, Indonesia, Yap, Palau, Maldives,
Thailand, Seychelles, Mauritius, Oman, Cape Verde, Kenya,
South Africa, Mozambique, Tobago, Mexico, Cuba, Egypt,
Spain, Bahamas and The Netherlands.
During every course I share my experiences on traveling
and diving in these areas with pleasure..
Regards,
Marcel |
